Siddha aspect of alcoholism

Kudi veeri noi

Excessive intake of alcohol, toddy, and fermented fruit juices causes this disease.

Generally it increases the body heat, stimulates the mind which catalyses to speak a lot and then hinders the movement and then collapses the body.

Mainly it is of four stages.

Stage

Stimulates the body, increases the strength, increases appetite

Increases the memory power to recall certain lost memories

Increases libido (sexual desire)

Easily digests food

Makes to sing and dance beautifully

Stage

Derails from the natural behavior

Indulges in fight, scolding, etc.

Increases sleep

Stage

Wild behavior like a maniac

Will never respect anyone

He cannot recall what he is doing

Talks and do whatsoever is in his mind and will be true to his mind

Stage

Loses his mind and body

Loses his strength and ability to walk

Falls down like a tree

Pulse rate decreases

Increased perspiration, chilled hands and legs

Coma stage attained

Sometimes lethal (death).

General symptoms

In the initial stage increases strength and happiness, IQ etc.

In the later stages it decreases the strength, causes dizziness, tremor, blurred vision, and dryness of mouth, tachycardia (increased heart rate), dripping saliva from the mouth, dancing, singing, nausea and vomiting. Further it causes loss of consciousness with prolonged sleep and heavy snore. Then it increases perspiration, loss of sensation in the arms and legs, difficulty ion breathing and causes death.

Differences in the nadi

Pitha nadi is increased which diminishes both the other nadis ( vatha and kapha ) and hinders them from doing their jobs. Increased pitha causes dancing and singing and running all over with joy, increased urination, then causes vomiting, abnormal breathing, increased perspiration, tremor, etc.

Stages and nadi

I. Stage increased pitha

II. Stage increased pitha along with vatha

III. Stage &

IV. Stage increased vatha, pitha and kapha.

That means all the three nadis joined together are elevated from their normal routine.

This is very important in the practice point of view.

Treatment

In our hospital we give specially made siddha medicine for a period of 90 days. This may be given with or without the concern of the patient. Strictly counseling is required for both the person and the family. We treat chronic alcoholic patients with 100% success in our Hospital.

PILES OR HEMORRHOIDS

Piles or Hemorrhoids are the ectasia of hemorrhoidal plexus present in the rectum.

It affects 5% of the adult population.

It is associated with constipation, venous stasis of pregnancy and cirrhosis (Portal hypertension).

Generally it is of two types.

They are

1. Internal piles and

2. External piles.

Ectasia ( dilation, expansion or distension ) of the inferior hemorrhoidal plexus below the anorectal line produces external piles or external hemorrhoid.

Ectasia of the superior hemorrhoidal plexus produces internal piles or internal hemorrhoid.

They may sometimes coexist.

Complications include secondary thrombosis, pain, strangulation, ulceration with fissure formation, bleeding, etc.

In Siddha it is called MOOLAM Noi.

According to siddha principle bulging or inflammation of any one of the veins present in the rectum or anus causes small finger like outgrowth along the anus which is called as MOOLAM Noi.

According to siddhars over eating spicy foods, elephant, horse, camel riding, excessive workout of yogic exercises, over holding of breath in pranayama exercise, crash diet, excessive sexual activities, stress, anger, etc are the main reasons for occurring this disease.

The major symptoms told by the siddhars are pain, itching, burning sensation, constipation, bleeding, fissures, etc.

According to siddhar uegi muni moolam noi (piles) is of 21 types. We will see these types in the latter posts.

Karunai kizlangu legiyam is a good medicine for it.

In our hospital we take special care in treating piles patients.A mixture of specially made siddha medicines along with karunai kizlangu legiyam is given for a period of 41 days or more according to the severity of the disease which gives a good result.

ALLERGIC RHINITIS IN SIDDHA SYSTEM OF MEDICINE-NEER MOOKADAIPU

In a growing country like India nowadays the air is becoming more and more polluted due to heavy machineries, automobiles, fertilizers, etc. which causes several allergic reactions. One such allergic reaction occurring in humans is ALLERGIC RHINITIS.

Mainly this is caused by inhaling chemicals allergic to us, dust, pollutants, pollen grains, etc. eating foods that causes certain allergies, etc.

Generally the symptoms are non stop nasal discharge, heaviness of head, eye irritation, sneezing, and sometimes utricaria.

Generally this type is treated with anti histamines which are effective to certain extent only. Treating with decongestants relieve nasal congestion and itchy eyes. Antihistamine tablets relieve sneezing and itching, and can prevent nasal congestion before an allergy attack. Antihistamines cause drowsiness so it is important to avoid driving or working with machinery after taking them. Corticosteroid and nasal sprays reduce inflammation and are effective in treating ALLERGIC RHINITIS symptoms.

Immunotherapy (allergy shots) may be given to people over seven whose allergies are severe and do not respond to medication. Surgery may be needed for certain cases of mechanical obstruction, such as deviated septum or polyps.

In the SIDDHA system of medicine SIDDHARS had told about this disease more than 2000 years back and had successfully treated this disease. According to the great SIDDHARS of SIDDHA system allergic rhinitis is nothing but Neer mookadaipu noi.

They had told that this disease is caused by eating and drinking cold foods and drinks, taking bath in cold water, inhaling deodorants or scents that are allergic to us, inhaling certain dusts or pollen grains which can cause allergic reactions, etc. which are the main reasons for the out come of this disease.

Further SIDDHARS had described the main symptoms of this disease as non stop discharge of clear fluid from the nose, headache, fever, general malaise, and pain in the arms and legs.

In SIDDHA system SIDDHARS tell plenty of medicines to treat allergic rhinitis successfully without failure. In the early stages eating spicy foods like ginger, black pepper, etc will somewhat decrease the symptoms.

In my clinical practice I have come across several cases with success. Generally they come to me at the later stages only, when the anti histamines don’t work. These patients need a 90 days course of SIDDHA medicine. Early cases can be treated with a 41 days course of specially prepared SIDDHA medicines with complete success. Another important thing during this course of SIDDHA medicine is food restriction. Certain foods must be avoided during the course of SIDDHA medicine.

must be strictly avoided. If we stick to these food restrictions perfectly and take a course of 41 days specially made SIDDHA medicines allergic rhinitis can be cured completely.

SINUSITIS IN SIDDHA MEDICINE

One of the major diseases in the tropical countries like India is sinusitis (inflammation of the sinus).

In general the symptoms are heaviness of head, eye irritation, pain in the fore head, discharge of mucus or fluid or blood with mucus from the nose.

Mainly it is treated with anti histamines and anti allergic drugs. The main investigation for sinusitis is blood sample test for increase in esinophils, X- ray skull for inflammation of the sinuses. If the inflammation is severe surgical correction is recommended.

According to our siddha system siddhars had told sinusitis as mookadaipu noi.

The common symptoms for mookadaipu noi told by siddhars are redness of the nose, sneezing, redness of eyes with excessive lacrimation, running nose, headache, discharge of mucus, pus or blood from the nose.

According to the great siddhars of siddha system this disease is mainly caused by drinking excessive cold water, going out in excessive cold air, inhaling smoke or dust dense air, inhaling particles that induces sneezing, taking bath in cold water when the body temperature is high, intaking excessive amount of cold food, drinking contaminated water, compulsory stopping of lacrimation and vomiting, high decibel excessive talking, increased or shortened sleep, and wrong practice of yoga.

The first symptoms of the disease are itching or burning sensation of the nose, excessive lacrimation, change of tone in speech, headache, difficulty in breathing, and running nose.

According to our siddha system siddhars had classified this disease as 9 types. They are

1. Vali mookadaipu
2. Azhal mookadaipu
3. Aiya mookadaipu
4. Neer mookadaipu
5. Kuruthi mookadaipu
6. Seel mookadaipu
7. Siraai mookadaipu
8. Mulai mookadaipu
9. Kaluthu mookadaipu

Of the above types we will discuss about the commonly occurring cases we come across in our clinical practice in our day to day life in our next posts.

OSTEOARTHRITIS (OA) - DEGENERATIVE JOINT DISEASE (DJD) - SIDDHA TREATMENT

DJD is caused by the breakdown of articular cartilage mainly in the weight bearing joints, which leads to sub-chondral bony thickening and bony overgrowths. The cause for DJD is unknown, but most likely related to metabolic and bio-chemical alterations.

DJD mostly occurs in men in midlife, somewhat later in women. This frequency increases with age to about 80%. The relationship between age and previous injury is responsible for the genesis of this disease in majority of cases.Usually knees and hands are more commonly affected in women and hips in men.

Mostly DJD is asymptomatic. Generally the symptoms are morning stiffness of the affected joints, restricted movements, small effusions and crackling sound in the affected joints ( crepitus), reduction in mobility and increasing pain with joint motion.

Generally these types of patients are managed with kneecaps, painkillers and steroids. These may be helpful to certain extend. But in long run, these medicines are less effective and the pain increases again.

When the conservative treatments fail, these patients are advised for KNEE JOINT REPLACEMENT.

As per modern vision this disease can just controlled but can never be cured completely.

In SIDDHA literature it is termed as AZHAL KEEL VAYU. The causes written by SIDDHARS for azhal keel vayu are dryness of the joints which decreases the synovial fluid causing damage to the articular cartilage. Due to this, pain is felt in the joints.

The symptoms of this disease are pain in the joints, pain increases while walking, crepitation felt during movements, if left untreated the function of the joint is completely lost and the joint gets jammed. Mainly the knee joint is affected as per SIDDHA principle.

In my clinical practice i have treated a number of DJD with a high success rate with specially made SIDDHA medicines prepared as per SIDDHA literature. The medicine has two separate courses of each 60 days. Immediately after the first course, a pause of 7 days is maintained. Our medicines have no side effects when properly managed. It must be taken under the proper guidance of a well trained SIDDHA physician.

POLYARTHRALGIA OF UNKNOWN ETIOLOGY

Mr. Selvaraj 49/M with chronic pain consulted me 2 months back.

He was suffering from severe pain in the both knee & ankle joints and also most of the small joints. He was not able to work for a long period due to pain. He was also suffering from general weakness. All those symptoms he felt for the past 20 years. He could not move a day without pain killers and fully dependent on NSAID’s.

I have advised him for a routine blood test and other relevant investigations- found to be normal.

From the above symptoms and investigations I came to know that it is poly-artharlgia of unknown etiology. As the problem is not having any specific treatment yet, I have started our traditionally made SIDDHA MEDICINE prepared as per the SIDDHA literature. He has now completed a course of 60 days medicine.

Now he is doing his routine works without taking pain killer drugs and the symptoms he was suffering for many years reduced a lot. He is feeling good and his general weakness gone away.He has gained some weight, and now doing hard works. Moreover he is not a NSAID dependent person now, and he can do all- without strain. He is well satisfied with the medicine and continuing the medicine as prescribed.

UNKNOWN BITE-SIDDHA MEDICINE

About 75% of the world animal population is arthropods. In these a small number of species (spider, scorpion, bees, wasps, ants, etc) possess venom that causes morbidity and mortality when humans are bitten or stung.

These species have a venom apparatus such as a gland which produces venom which is injected into humans by means of bite or sting. Mainly these venoms consist of histamines. This is the main cause for the allergic reactions in humans. The main allergic reaction is pain in the site of bite or sting, skin reactions, pruritus, etc

If these symptoms are present then it must be treated at the earliest as possible with anti-histamines. If left untreated it will latter develop skin allergies like thickening of the skin, itching, etc, which will be tough task to treat by modern science.

As per siddha principle unknown bite is known as kaana kadi. Allergic skin reactions caused due to the bite of organisms such as millipede, scorpion, insects, bees, certain non poisonous snakes, etc come under this section unknown bite.

Generally the symptoms are thickening or hardening of the epidermis, color change in the skin, itching, etc.

Patients will have severe itching so that they will scratch until blood oozes from the spot. They can’t control the itch so they scratch until wounds are formed on the spot. Now too itching persists and they try to scratch around the border of the wounds which further aggravates the wounds, which latter becomes septic and makes the treatment more complicated.

In my practice section such complicated cases are treated with special care because if left untreated these wounds will never heal and they stay as a thorn in his flesh for a long time. So patients must be beware of it and must treat unknown bite as early as possible to avoid complications.

When treated early with both internal and external siddha medicines good results are shown and quicker remedy can be seen. In the complicated stage first medicines are given to heal the wounds first with both external and internal medicines and then only the medicines for unknown bite is given.

In my clinical practice unknown bite is treated by siddha medicine within a span of 40 days with good results. But in the complicated cases it is taking longer periods. But it can be cured completely.

There are certain food restrictions during the in take of this medicine. Dried fish, bringal, curd, pork, pickles, jack fruit, mangoes, egg, tomato as these food stuffs aggravate the symptoms .

Try to treat unknown bite as early as possible before it gets complicated and get good results with siddha medicine. Good luck.

WHITE DISCHARGE

WHITE DISCHARGE is the most common problem nowadays among the working women. This is generally because of their mode of work and restlessness due to work load. More than 90% of working women have this problem and they don’t even have time to look over it.

Generally white discharge is of two types. They are Infectious and Non-infectious.
White discharge caused by infections must be treated immediately without fail. If left untreated it will cause foul smelling cloudy discharge along with an itching sensation. Further the infection may spread to the internal organs like uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, etc causing severe backache, profuse bleeding along with white discharge etc.

Non-infectious white discharge is generally due to the mode of work, life style, tension, mode of diet, climatic changes, hygienic conditions, anemia, etc.

Generally non-infectious white discharge is difficult to treat.

As per my vision non-infective white discharge is somewhat tough to treat because of the non-cooperative mentality of the patients. It is so because it takes a lot of time to control it. A minimum period of six months is required for SIDDHA treatment. Generally ladies don’t have the mentality to take medicines for such a long period. But in this case it is a must to take medicine for a long period. Then only the total metabolic activity is regulated and the vatha, pittha and kapha in the body are maintained as it is so that full cure is attained.

According to SIDDHA principle non-infective white discharge is caused mainly due to stress and tension, sleeplessness, change in body temperature mainly due to the changes in pitha, change in eating habit, eating certain type of food stuffs that increase the body temperature, hygienic conditions, excessive heat produced by walking long distances in heat without using chapels, excessive intercourse, having sex with infected persons, etc.

Infective white discharge is mainly caused by yeast, bacteria and trichomonas. The major symptoms are itching, curd like or yellowish foul smelling discharge, lower abdomen (stomach) pain, painful urination, painful intercourse, etc.

As per my vision infective white discharge is easy to treat with SIDDHA medicine and a 100% result can be attained with a good co-operative patient. A 40 days course of medicine is enough to treat infective white discharge. In some cases it is a must to treat the partner also to prevent further infections.

Most of the patients are shy to express the major symptoms. They think it as a great sin and are afraid to discuss about this matter frankly. They keep it as a great secret until it goes out of control and make the treatment more complicated. If treated early it will be easy to treat and the results will be quicker. So ladies don’t be shy to discuss about white discharge. If present treat it as early as possible so that the treatment is simple and the results are quicker.

To stop recurrent infections follow the rules below.

1. Don’t use soap to wash the pubic area frequently. Just wash with mild hot water and dry it with a soft, clean and dry towel.

2. Try to avoid bringal and dry fish.

3. It is a must to clean and dry the pubic area after intercourse. ( without soap )

4. Try to avoid wearing silk panties. Cotton panties are preferable. Wear panties only when needed other times try to be free. Avoiding panties is advisable.

5. Try to avoid public toilets. If unavoidable wash with water cleanly after urination. It is a must.

Dramatic Healing Of Wounds-Siddha Cure

Mr.Paulian, 75/M came to me with an infected abscess in his right hip region.
The wound was foul smelling with oozing pus.
There was a lot of unwanted tissue growth.
He was unable to walk due to pain and he had several sleepless nights.
He was fully exhausted and was out of faith as he was advised Skin grafting by a plastic surgeon.
He was in need of a treatment without surgery.
The initial treatment was by incision to remove the pus and unwanted tissue growth.
